Technical Services Manager

About the role

The role provides strategic leadership for Engineering and Utilities functions in the Maltings plant, ensuring plant reliability, equipment effectiveness and compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, healthy and risk‑free working environment and ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental legislation.
• Lead the Engineering and Utilities functions in the Maltings plant, driving plant reliability and equipment effectiveness.
• Manage human resources, develop employees, and oversee apprenticeship and artisan programmes.
• Ensure instrumentation integrity, system change control, calibration and compliance with engineering standards.
• Diagnose performance issues, provide HR solutions, and monitor organisational performance.

Required profile

• Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) with a South African Department of Labour Certificate of Competence.
• Minimum 12 months on‑the‑job training and 2–3 years experience as a Packaging or Brewing & Utilities Engineer.
• Additional qualifications such as Advanced Utilities Plant training or Ammonis training are advantageous.
