Finance & Compliance Specialist

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Finance & Compliance Specialist to ensure financial resources are efficiently directed to front‑line health services in Eswatini while maintaining strong controls, donor compliance and value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain country‑level budgets, phased spending plans, cash forecasts and budget‑versus‑actual analyses.
• Review expenditures, account coding, journal entries, reconciliations, advances and liquidations to ensure accuracy and proper approval.
• Produce timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including variance explanations, burn‑rate analysis and management recommendations.
• Manage cash flow, fund requests, partner advances and liquidation follow‑up in line with approved work plans.
• Monitor financial flows to FBOs and local implementing partners, ensuring timely disbursement, proper utilization and accountability.
• Lead financial close‑out activities, including final expenditure review, accrual tracking, partner close‑out and audit documentation.
• Apply U.S. Government regulations (2 CFR 200) and World Vision policies to ensure donor, internal and statutory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, grants compliance and internal controls, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector.
• Ability to work closely with project directors, finance teams and local partners to support budgeting, reporting and risk mitigation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate financial reporting and audit readiness.
